Legendary singer Aretha Franklin is being honored in Detroit this week as her family prepares to lay her to rest.
Franklin's body has been lying in honor since Tuesday, August 28, at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in her hometown of Detroit.
A special concert titled "A People's Tribute to the Queen" will be held Thursday night, August 30, at Chene Park Detroit Amphitheater, followed by a star-studded funeral set for Friday, August 31, at 10 a.m. at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit. Stevie Wonder, Faith Hill, Ronald Isley, Chaka Khan, Fantasia and Jennifer Hudson are a few of the musicians who will pay tribute to Franklin on Friday.
Franklin died of pancreatic cancer on August 16. She was 76..........
